World Cup 2026 is on the horizon, but the baseball world is currently captivated by the World Baseball Classic. Seriously, is this better than the MLB?? The international tournament has delivered early excitement including one of the best underdog moments of the week.
Did you see 17 year old high school pitcher Joseph Contreras, the youngest player in the tournament, on the mound for Brazil facing Aaron Judge? With the bases loaded, Contreras got Judge to ground into an inning-ending double play and instantly became one of the breakout stories of the tournament.
Moments like that are what make the WBC special: big-league stars sharing the field with teenagers and rising prospects, all representing their countries. And for high school athletes about to begin their own seasons this week, it’s a reminder that big moments can come at any age and any stage!!

Defining Leadership.
There was a time in my career that I devoured books, podcasts, seminars, anything and everything on leadership.
The topic still fascinates me.
Recently, on the Carey Nieuwhof Leadership Podcast, Les McKeown offered this definition:
"Leadership is any act that gets two or more people closer to their common goals. If you do something discretionary - that you don’t have to - that gets people closer to their goals, that’s leadership."
